In 2023 alone, almost 14 million new electric cars were registered globally — with Europe, China and the US leading the charge — bringing their total number on the roads to 40 million. Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) accounted for two-thirds of that growth with 9.5 million new registrations, more than double the number of 2021.
In the longer term, it is predicted that by 2030 EVs will represent more than 60% of vehicles sold globally.
